Camping in China
A couple of hours on the coach they said, just up the road they said... I should have know better, this is China after all. Try 5 hours and we start to get close. A 50+ seater coach full with keen campers and drinking maniacs. We fitted in well! The trip there was eventful and very entertaining to say the least. After an hour or so Gordon's throat was definitely dry and it was time to start drinking. The only problem was we had no beers. Needless to say he found a box of lager at the front an preceded to return with a few cans only to be challenged to a drinking game. Never the one to turn down a challenge (especially one that encourages drinking) the gauntlet was well and truly thrown down. "She Shwa shwa She Shwa Shwa, or something like that and then a game similar to rock paper scissors. Any hows when beers the anti it's important to master the art of winning very quickly thus returning a handsome amount of beer. We 'tag teamed' the natives and were unbeatable and consequently became satisfactorily lubricated in no time at all. At least this took the edge off the narrow hill climb ahead. Ice road truckers, yeah whatever! The long and the short of it is that we debarked the bus so the driver could get the beast up the hill with minimal lives at risk!
Half an hour later and we arrive at the far side of a the lake only to take the final leg of the ferry bus to the camp site. At last. Pitch the tents and chill out. How beautiful is this place?
Session on!

An awesome time had by everyone Nd thanks to Bi for arranging this and inviting us along. We will certainly never forget this time. The tranquility of the surrounding country and gently ebbing stream only broken by our calls of "Gambei" as we drink more beer.
Taking a short hike to the awaiting coach somewhat further down the hill than the extreme twisty turns of before we all again congregate. Making our way down the mountains side again we are stopped the local Police and are ushered of the road. We wait and watch the scenery to establish the reason and start to see a very peculiar shape emerging. Not dissimilar to the new War of the Worlds film is a huge wind turbine blade precariously making its way around the hill side. Maneuvered, I must admit, quite skillfully on the rear of a multi-articulated low loader. Three blades later and a few more bevvies and we take advantage of the great photo opportunity. Check out the group shot above. Back on board and the remaining n amount of hours left and we finally reach home.
Great times by all!
