Day 13
awake at 07.30 great night sleep apart form the noisy peacocks...lol. excited about seeing the solar eclipse but its seems too cloudy. Jaz finally gets up after lying in bed watching kill bill lazy ass... No solar eclipse as it is too cloudy and also raining so no walk along the beach yet. 11.24 weather brightens up so a walk along the beach. Lots of oysters and shells. raining on and off. decided to stay one more night. Had a lazy day watching films and Jaz cooked tea egg and chips. site is busier now with a group of Spanish friends next to us. there was supposed to be a BBQ this weekend
but postponed because of the weather. Route planned for tomorrow. Going to Marbella via Gibraltar.
Day 14
Up and showered for 9am, weather not too bad and not raining yet! Emptied the loo (yuck) and refilled the water and ready to go. Passing through some towns and villages along the way we saw a monastery. stopped and took a couple of pictures. Travelling along the A7 we pass Gibraltar pouring with rain again. Parked up and crossed into Gibraltar.
Had fish and chips in an old English pub, the place is awesome. Went into the cathedral and took some pics. brought PG Teabags :) Tobacco and cigarettes....and got change in sterling!
Back to Bessie to carry on the journey to Marbella. Bessie had a paddy and spat boiling water everywhere! Jaz says its the expansion tank and nothing to worry about.... I dont think I believe him... he looks worried...
Finally he admitted defeat and pulled into a petrol station. I went inside to ask if they knew of any garages near. She said no, all closed for the weekend.....GREAT! Luckily her friend also in the petrol station (CEPSA) knows a mechanic and she called him out for us.... he will be with us in 20 mins.... 18.15. He was lovely and looked a little like BOD from the cartoon series ( not Michael Boddice from school...lol)...anyway 70 euro's later at 19.30 Bessie is fixed and ready to roll. Too late to carry on so we decide to stay in Estepona for the night.
Estepona is beautiful.... huge expanse of sea and beaches... quaint little town with cobbled streets and water fountains. White washed houses with red flowers in the window boxes.... it is straight out of a Thomas cook brochure.
